There are a lot of factors that go in to creating a quality, satisfying CDL-A truck driving career but near the top of the list is pay. After all, that’s why we all have jobs – to pay our bills, take care of our families, go on vacation, etc. With that in mind, NTB has already implemented two raises this year, one in the spring and one this summer.
“NTB makes it a priority to pay our truck drivers well,” says Dale Arnold, Recruiting Retention Manager. “It’s not a ‘set it and forget it’ situation – we continually review our pay and whenever we can raise it, we do.”
So far this year, NTB has increased pay per mile by a whopping 8 cents for all drivers. In March, NTB raised pay by 3 cents per mile. This summer, we’ve added another 5 cents per mile on top of that.
“Now, our drivers can earn $70,000-$85,000 per year with this latest increased pay package,” says Arnold. “It makes us very proud to be able to do this for our drivers and their families. It just adds to the overall positive career experience we’re creating at NTB.”
Our per diem program makes sure you get compensated for your road expenses. This allows you to reduce your taxes and increase your take home pay by $2,600-$3,200 every year.
Great compensation doesn’t only include what you’re earning today as we also help you plan for retirement. At 401k retirement program enrollment, you’re 100% vested and after six months on the job, we’ll also match your contributions up to 10%.
Of course, you always want to consider the balance between your earnings and quality of life with home time, benefits and other extras. Our drivers get guaranteed home time every week with a schedule of five days out and a minimum 48 hours home. As an NTB driver, you’ll have up to four weeks of PTO based on the length of your employment.

You can boost your pay even more by taking advantage of NTB’s extras. We have a 6 cents per mile weekend incentive; an extra 3 cents per mile for HazMat/tanker endorsements; safety and production bonuses; and detention, breakdown and pickup/drop pay. We’re also 95% drop and hook freight!
